Burke's been a failure everywhere he's gone except for the one year he caught lightning in a bottle in Anaheim, on which he'll dine out for the rest of his life like any other fluke Stanley Cup winner (see: Tortorella, John).

And, yes, I realize it is far better to be a fluke Cup winner than to contend for years and always come up short. I'm just saying, a guy like Burke should not keep landing on his feet with such an abysmal overall track record.

I think Burke did a good job of rebuilding in Vancouver, especially off the ice. He inherited Bryan Murrays team in Anaheim but he did add Neidermeyer and Pronger. He's such a stubborn gasbag. The game is changing and he does not want to change with it.

Burke did steal JVR from Philadelphia for Luke Schenn.

He did make some decent deals in TO but his free agent signings were horrendous.

Yeah, I was thinking along the lines of Quick playing in the Olympics. If I'm coaching or managing an Olympic team, I'd want a cut-off date for my roster. I don't want a bunch of maybes the week before the tournament starts.

I read somewhere that Steven Stamkos was aiming to be back by February. That strikes me as awfully fast to recover from that sort of injury. No way in Hades would I take him on an Olympic team coming off that sort of injury and layoff. I know playing in the Olympics is a big deal to some of these guys (as it should be), but there will be other years. It would be grossly unfair to him to rush him back prematurely. Unfair to the team to have a guy coming off such a serious injury and extended layoff and unfair to the Lightning to risk further injury playing in a tournament like the Olympics.

If Canada makes Price its starting goaltender, I'm not betting a dime on them. Marc-Andre Fleury is having a bounce-back season and Josh Harding was played very well. I'd take either of those goalies, or Roberto Luongo, ahead of Price.

Oates's comments about Hertl "disrespecting the game" because he scored an amazing goal--and didn't showboa---was the hockey version of "hey, get off my lawn".

Hockey doesn't need a young grumpy old man. We've got enough

I'm glad you're neither Steve Yzerman or Mike Babcock.

Would you take Price ahead of Fleury?

Yes, in a heartbeat. And, I'm not even a Canadiens fan.

Price playing in front of that possible defense is scary to think how good he could be.
