Somewhat related is the fact they'd pull down about twice as much revenue.

I guess the US Olympic team doesn't need a guy who scores 30 goals all the time.

No Bobby Ryan to me is ludicrous. They say he doesn't have enough power play points (too many even strength is a bad thing?) and he's not intense. I don't think you can Predators your way to an Olympic medal on a big sheet with international refs but darnit they're going to try.

Ryan's not intense but Joe Thornton had a gold medal and they're trying to get one with Kessel. (Who belongs there 100 times out of 100 as well).

A lot of the debate's been Oshie and Wheeler but I don't see what JVR has done to demand a spot over Ryan. Similar bodies, draft positions, seems to be JVR is Ryan without all the 30-goal seasons to back it up.

Old, antiquated bullshit logic. You can never have enough scoring.

Burke traded for JVR, let's not forget that. One of the best moves he made with the Leafs.

Kessel and JVR have undeniable chemistry. It's not all about stats. As Poile has pointed out --as has Yzerman for Canada--it's not about selecting an all star team for a country.

We did not pick the 25 best players," general manager David Poile said. "We picked the 25 players we thought gave us a chance to win the gold medal."

This is how Canada ending up taking Rob Zamuner.

Yeah, but they didn't choose him for goals. But then we still don't know why Gretzky was left out in the shoot out in 1998

I firmly believe, especially in Canada's case where you can ice 4 first lines that you do. Make the other team check you. Bobby Ryan ca put the puck in the net better than almost any other American player, to me, it's ridiculous that he's not there.

And Orpik over Yandle might be worse than leaving Ryan off.
