If this has been posted on previous pages I apologize. If not, this is sweet. It's not about the puck.

Anaheim at Chicago tonight. Two best teams in hockey. Ducks swept 3 from the BHawks last season and won the first game this year in a shootout at Chicago.
Is this when the Ducks begin their fade to finish 10th in the West and trade Selanne to Winnipeg, as Beef predicted on the thread starter??

And, sweet, the Caps have moved into full dumpster-fire mode. I fucking hate McPhee.

Heck of a game. I know I'm in the minority, but I've never been totally sold on Crawford. However, he was very good last night though he gave up a five-hole softie.

The Ducks could rack up 200 regular season points but I'm not biting until Boudreau finally makes a long playoff run.

I wouldn't put those losses on Boudreau.

Crawford is a very ordinary goalie. There's every reason not to be sold on him.

Boudreau won me over last season, but then had another playoff flop. So, that will be his legacy until he makes a big postseason run.
But he's got to be the reason the team is so good, third overall last season and first this season.
All the preseason analysis was justified about the defense and the second-line forwards. But he's taken defensemen who were 5-6-7s on their teams -- Lovejoy, Fistric, Bryan Allen -- and two kids -- Vatanen, Lindholm -- and made it a solid corps with Fowler and Beauchemin.
Up front, the journeymen types have excelled -- Winnik, Cogliano, Koivu, Perreault. And some of their drafted player who never seemed to get it finally are getting it -- Belesky, Bonino, Palmieri.
Boudreau should get a bunch of credit.
The BHawks skated circles around the Ducks for most of the game last night. But Anaheim did make it interesting at the end.
On to St. Louis tonight. Anaheim had this same trip about a month ago, won in a SHO in Chicago and dominated the Blues in St. Louis.

Trumps three of the last four Vezina Trophy winners.

I know, I know: Winners win.

Neither Niemi nor Crawford were the reasons that team won two Cups.
