His reasoning in the post game was because the line scored the team's first goal in like five games or somesuch. But in reality, its just a ploy to spark the team and/or take the Canucks off their game early, because in reality the Flames stand little chance against Vancouver if they play it straight. At the very least they try to turn it into some hackneyed rallying point, stemming from an incident in their last meeting. It's all bullshit.

This wasn't exactly like Howie Long trying to get into the 49ers dressing room to fight Randy Cross and any other 49er lineman who had been leg whipping and chop blocking him.

I hope the first question the league asks Torts is what he would have done if he had got in there.

If it was Patrick Roy in the Hartley role they would have had to call in the cops.

So they fought their way to one victory in four games. I don't think the Sedins signed up for that.

Fake remorse to set up what he knew by that point would be an inevitable hearing with the league office.

I thought the whole thing was fantastic, myself. He should have stayed in character and conducted his post-game interview a la Richard Sherman.

Reg Dunlop would have known how to deal with that.

Funny you should mention ol' Reg.

Re: Crawford/Boudreau - my mind is made up...until one or both changes it. I'm flexible. :)

Calgary-Vancouver brawl? It wasn't as if Torts first saw the Flames' opening lineup at the start of "Oh, Canada." He responded the same way twice before with the Rangers, and this time he tries to enter the other locker room.

Bottom line, IMHO, there is no brawl if Torts doesn't take the bait.

No but what happens to the players that line up against the idiots? Why would a coach put those players in a situation where they could be hurt?

JC, you probably know more than I do about "The Code" but I have hard time believing the Flames would have started laying jacks on the Sedins off the opening faceoff. Iron League? Yeah. NHL? IMO, no but maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree.

You are probably right but I wouldn't be willing to take that chance.

Point taken. And in Torts' defense, he pointed out that was his point. Point is: I'm being wishy-washy again, re: Crawford/Boudreau. ;D

Think back to the bullshit between Scott and Kessel. If Torts puts the Sedins out to start the game against the Calgary meatheads and they get jumped all of a sudden you have Canucks pouring over the bench and all hell breaks loose.
