Getzlaf had one last week against Philly. Second of his career.

Detroit in the Eastern Conference is taking some time to get used to. Liked seeing them playing against the Blackhawks and Blues.

Where they belong, of course. And luckily they moved from the dominant West to the weaker East.

They may not even make the playoffs this year. They're in 10th place in the conference.

Flesherton--between Shelburne and Markdale on Hwy 10

Maybe he lived on a farm so he didn't actually live in any of those towns :)\

Det-Wash has been a very entertaining game. And now we get bonus hockey.

Grew up on a farm on Highway 10 just outside Flesherton, like a Jesse Barfield throw from the village limits. Went to school and played minor hockey in Flesherton, but was born in the Markdale hospital.

Caps won it, though they tried real, real hard not to. Adam Oates should feel his seat getting warm. I'm not that impressed of late.

Just got a sneaky feeling that both Detroit and Washington will do enough to sneak into the playoffs. Last year, Detroit was on the verge of not making the playoffs. Clinched a spot on the last weekend, then upset Anaheim and darn near beat Chicago. Mike Babcock seems to be one of the better coaches in the NHL when it comes to getting production from his lesser-known players.

Side note is that Pavel Datsyuk may not be healthy enough to play in the Olympics. (Could be back for the Red Wings, but maybe not this month.)

I think one of them will make it. Probably Washington. An they'll play Pittsburgh in the first round and out in six games :)

I have never had a bad time in Markdale. Good honky tonk there that I can never remember the name of.
