Not sure a goalie will help much with a back end in disarray like the Caps' is. Stick with Holtby, give him some damn competent blue liners. See what happens.

At the start of the season, I thought Pittsburgh might be shopping for a goaltender. But as well as Marc-Andre Fleury has played, my guess is they give him one more shot in the playoffs. Clearly the pressure will be on him to get it done this spring in the playoffs.

Speaking of the Penguins, turns out Kris Letang's recent health issue was caused by a stroke. He's only 26.

Sounds like the game at Soldier Field (Saturday night?) could be played in wild weather. I'm hearing very cold and the possibility of heavy snow. The cold could play havoc with ice conditions and the snow, well, it might provide a scenario similar to Fog Bowl.

I don't think many realize just how good Lehtonen has been for Dallas. Without him, they're a lot further off the playoff mark and I think he's in that upper echelon of goaltenders. If the Stars could flip Lehtonen for some young assets, I could see them being in the market for Miller, but otherwise I bet they keep him.

Yeah, you're probably right. Dallas is 7-1-2 in its last ten after beating Carolina. My thinking a month ago was based, in part, on Miller's limited no-trade and whom else he might waive it for. In my opinion, he wasn't going to for, say, Winnipeg but he might for the Stars. It is a team on the rise with a head coach Miller is certainly familiar with.

Watched the L.A. win at Calgary last night. Brown had a goal. I wonder if Dean Lombardi will gamble on Brown and Richards getting going offensively and stay quiet Wednesday? There's been talk of the Kings interest in Vanek. My guess is Snow would want Jones as his cornerstone netminder, maybe even a solid prospect such as Toffoli.

Noted with amusement AP agate's news that Pekka Rinne had been sent to Norfolk for conditioning. Oops. Anaheim doesn't need goaltending depth.;D

Miller and Ott not on the ice in Buffalo. Miller presumed traded to St Louis, Ott potentially on the same train.

From what I see online Miller and Ott to the Bluse for Jaroslav Halak, Chris Stewart, a prospect and picks.

Blues backup goalie tonight is Jeff Tyni, Ducks locker room attendant.

One of the great quirks about the NHL. Literally, anyone off the street can get signed to a contract, just because they happen to be in the arena.

Except if you're Tyni (heh), and you get in the game for the Blues against your employer, do you actually make the saves or let the shots go in?
