Did the Russians kidnap Alexander Ovechkin and send him to the goulags after the Sochi Olympics?

Hasn't scored in a MONTH?!?!?!

 

Getzlaf has one goal since the Olympic break. Must have been something in the water.

 

Ovechkin is a -35. That's from a guy who's scored 48 goals himself. I realize he's never been known for his defensive prowess, but that's just really, really bad.

 

Anyone see the Chicago-Pittsburgh game? I thought the hit that Brooks Orpik put on Jonathan Toews was clean. Hated to see Toews get hurt and hope it won't be too serious. But no penalty was assessed on the play and I'd be surprised if Orpik got fined or suspended. Just a really hard, but legal, hit with the shoulder.

 

He does have 13 assists in his last 13 games, though, enough to push him into second place in the league scoring race.

 

What on earth happened to the Toronto Maple Leafs? Did they lose a bunch of key players after the Olympics?

 

New Jersey loses 3-2 to Buffalo in a shootout. It is the Devils' 15th straight shootout loss. 15 straight?!?!?! That's pretty damn hard to do even if you were trying.

And that's with Martin Brodeur or Cory Schneider in goal most of the time.

Just think, if they win half of those, they're probably in the playoffs.

 

They started getting average goaltending, the way they were playing was never sustainable.

 

They make the playoffs if they hadn't started Brodeur so much. He has the worst save pct over the last 3 years of any starting goalie. he's done and he's the only one that doesn't recognize it.
