Congrats to you and your team. It's fun to see your team win big games.
Lots of folks on this thread eating healthy portions of crow, after giving up on FSU and its rostered group too early.

(Sort of like the Facebook poster last nite who at halftime called Drew Bree a "f..ker" who was playing like sh.t")

All the good press that has gone to Tre Mason and his family-valued upbringing sort of got fogged over
when he gave the defiant "It-shoulda-been-mine" Heisman shout-out and pose late in the 4th.

And the coaches film room, or whatever it was called, wasn't my cup of tea. I can evaluate and watch just fine on my own.
Often-times with sound turned down from announcers altogether.

Congrats to FSU, a program not like most of its ACC brethren. It's a national brand in baseball and football. Those fans support their squads.
They get a title shot every 14 years and can be happy when they cash in.

I don't think I had the coaches whatever, but I had to have the volume pretty low anyway. I screamed and ran out into the hall after the 100-yard rush, but everyone was in the cafeteria.

The bummer was, I couldn't find any Americans to celebrate with. When I went down to my office, they were all like, meh. I work with people who are displaced from the US and weren't college fans to begin with.

When the game started, we had an ill-timed fire alarm go off, so I spent the first quarter (not that I could have watched) in the gathering area outside, hearing the Boston guy tell me how bad college football is. It was 10-3 when I first checked and I had emails from my mom and best friend saying how "horrible" it was and "everything that could go wrong went wrong."

I hope the regional sports station plays it tonight. I saw the OK-AL game like that and, even knowing OK won, it was scary to watch.

I love my job, but I never want to become so disconnected with my hometown and my hometown team that I become "meh" about it, even when I am in a time zone 13 hours away.

And I do own an FSU baseball jersey.

He doesn't know his fucking head from his ass, which is obvious any time he comments on football.

Yeah, I lived around Ramstein AB in the mid-2000s and there was plenty of sports fanaticism to go around within the military community there.
Certainly very little mutual Mississippi State love from anybody I ran into, but lots of SEC people and fans of lots of US colleges or pro teams.
It changes from post to post, globally, I guess. And it depends on how many locals you are directly working with.

Coach Martin needs a title far worse than Jameis did down there in Tallahassee. LOL

Agree 98 percent but the lack of replay on the 15 yard penalty before Auburn would've gone for two to try to tie 21-21 was really really bad and poorly handled. Herby circled some slot receiver that I figured was the guy getting the flag and it turned out the flag was some other guy that didn't appear to be within 10 yards of another player. I guess he gestured towards the Auburn bench, and I read on Twitter later that a ref told someone else he used finger guns, but I learned none of that on the broadcast and was generally confused.

I was really pulling for Auburn so we could get a Kristi Malzahn impromptu interview.

They showed it on the coach talk.

The coaches pretty much gave a WTF on it, and then brought it back up on the obvious horse collar no call in the last minute.

In a related story, just because Alabama wasn't in the title game doesn't mean AJ McCarron's mom kept her big mouth shut:

Her impending disappearance is the only reason I'm glad AJ's college career is over.

Yeah, Mason had all five offensive linemen in front of him. Only a couple of them actually blocked, though.

Everybody knows Gus Malzahn can't win the big one. Bring back Gene Chizik!!! :D

Meant to post this earlier but forgot. This is a great photo (the headline's not bad, either):
