Send Edsall back to UConn. All ill will would be forgotten if he gets them back to a BCS bowl. Besides, he's miles better than Pasqualoni.

Any chance David Shaw leaves Stanford for an NFL job?

Headbutt just high-fived everyone within a 10 mile radius.

I get the sense that Shaw realizes he has a pretty good thing going at Stanford, but I think if the right team offered him a huge deal to jump the NFL, he might bite. I think, like Sumlin, he's not going to be leaving for another college job.

If Plank or Kevin Anderson had a clue they would have hired a Big10 Assistant 3 years ago to prepare for next season. If they had a brain they would have kept Fridge and James Franklin until they disclosed the move, ten let Fridge retire and move Franklin up, as they were suppoed to do.

Anderson makes us Terps pine for Debbie Yow.

I wouldn't be surprised to see David Shaw coaching the Titans next year, since the new ownership will want to make a splashy hire and Shaw's hard-nose, run-first style fits the Titan's historical M.O.

I think Shaw is smart enough that he won't leap to the first NFL gig coming his way. He's got a lot of leverage and won't want to do anything that messes with recruiting.

I saw that Jeremy Foley said he is "1000 percent sure that Will Muschamp is the right coach."

Considering, people in Gainesville are already going batshit insane, it will be fun to see what they do if they lose to FSU and South Carolina.

Very little has been said about the USC opening lately. Is it a foregone conclusion that Del Rio is getting the job? Or are they just waiting until the end of the season?

I suppose so, but Ogre was on Dan Patrick this morning and he's such a great fit in an oddball way for that program. He has a strong enough personality to make waves in the LA media landscape to keep the team in the headlines regardless of W-L record (although that's also much improved under him).

If SC can beat Stanford and then take down UCLA, I could see them keeping Orgeron. The difference in their play since they shitcanned Lane is pretty noticeable.
