When Pelini gets an extension and a raise, I'll come back and apologize. :D

I just love how you shrugged it off as if it's a foregone conclusion that he's getting canned.

What else does your Crystal Ball say?

I agree Pelini's on the hot seat and he has no one but himself to blame for that. If you're going to talk a lot of trash and name-call and alienate people, including your own quarterback, you better be winning big. Cause they can get someone else to go 8-4 or 7-5.

If they were to suck it against Iowa and again in a bowl game, he might be gone. Otherwise, they'll have to wait for the next off-field fiasco as cause to fire him.

I've said all along that I believed Mack Brown would coach one more year at Texas and then retire. They're not going to fire him. He'll leave when he wants to retire, with or without a gentle nudge. But firing an old man for the sole reason that he just didn't win enough games isn't a "University of Texas-like thing" to do. It would be considered something they do at Auburn or Tennessee or "one of them redneck schools".

Yes, because there are none of them in Texas.

Can Nebraska really find someone else at the drop of a hat who can go 8-4 every year? It's fucking Nebraska. Tommie Frazier isn't walking through that door, and the days of Tom Osbourne letting his players do whatever the hell they want and covering up the messes are over, too. There's not much difference between Nebraska and Iowa and any other fly over country farm college where winter arrives in October.

Yeah, Nebraska had a couple of advantages 20 years ago it doesn't have now.

First off, they once had the best college weight room/facilities in the country and have since been passed by 15 or 20 programs (at least).

Second, they were able to recruit a lot of players out of Southern California, Texas and Missouri during the late 80s and early 90s when the major programs in those states were down and/or inconsistent.

I have to think he at least had a phone call from Haden right? If I'm the TexasAM AD I want to keep him in my backyard, but I don't want to forbid him from looking over the fence.

This is a placeholder post and a reminder to get busy with Mike London updates when we start the 2014 thread.
