USC apparently is trying to pay top dollar to keep Orgeron around, which is probably a good move.

I just wonder if some school comes in and hires him away to be HC.

He's a better fit than any of the other names mentioned.

James Franklin is a hell of a coach. Smart guy, and one of the best motivators you'll see out there. Sure glad that Maryland had him as a coach in waiting but decided to dump him for Randy Edsell. That worked out just swell.

Petersen's name comes up for every job opening, despite there being no evidence he wants another job. Can we stop pretending like there's a serious possibility he'll take any of these jobs?

If I'm Washington, I don't bite and extend Sarkisian. Good coach, but they could probably get a better one for the cost of a Sarkisian extension. Do you pay $3 mil a year to a coach that hasn't finished higher than third in his division?

Brad Stevens never provided any evidence that he was interested in leaving Butler, until he was announced as the Boston Celtics coach. Never only lasts until the next yes.

A fair point, but look at the mess he inherited.

And to his credit, he made UW a better job with the stadium improvements - but being mentioned for the USC job, not being signed past '15 and Sarkisian probably knows he's only a backslide away next year from the door -

Update - ESPN reporting Sarkisian has accepted the SC job. Might help retaining EdO. Maybe Mora hops back up to the alma mater?

Feldman is reporting that Sarkisian is getting the job.

Probably a good hire for USC.

I'm laughing because our shop recently did a feature on a couple high school stars in our area who signed with UW (a pretty big deal around here).

    Welcome to NCAA athletics, boys.
