It's actually 10, but the point certainly stands. On the surface this appears to be a great hire. I hope it doesn't work out, but that's just my bias speaking. ;D

Why WOULD he have taken the Wazzu job?

I heard Petersen's name being tossed around before Leach was hired. WAZZU is currently upgrading its facilities (wasn't being done two years ago), while UW just upgraded. Plus Sark got the UW program on pretty solid footing, especially compared to where Wulff had the WAZZU program two years ago. In other words, Petersen would have had some pretty serious rebuilding to do in Pullman; at UW currently there isn't that issue since Sark did that work already.

I got this going on Facebook and will now spread it here: Bobby Petrino to Boise State is about as perfect as it gets.

Petrino can be had on the cheap. He's a name brand coach for a school that wants to maintain name brand status. He's from Montana and already familiar with that part of the country. He's a giant douche but knows the XOs of football as well as any top-flight coach in the country.

In all seriousness, is Boise State a better job than Western Kentucky at this point?

Do we expect Petrino to go back to a high profile program next? Or do you think he'd be interested in a gig like Wake Forest? Major conference, not so major team. Chance to pull a few upsets and set himself up even further for a big-time gig?

Two out of three ain't bad. If I were a Mariners fan I'd be really unhappy with the Cano signing.

I think Boise will go after Justin Wilcox, former D coordinator.

Man - that was fast. Petersen's already been scrubbed from the Boise website.

Seriously? For starters, Pullman vs. Seattle.

HUGE job desirability difference between UW and Wazzou.

This will either be a grand slam or a complete disaster.

Will be interesting to see which way Boise goes. It's been a launching pad for many a career, much like Miami of Ohio. But the landscape has changed quite a bit.
