Colorado State is a long, long, long, long, long. long, loooooooooong shot to ever get into the Big 12. Wyoming is about 100 times less likely that CSU.

Frankly, the only reason TCU got in was because the Big 12 had to add a ninth team immediately to comply with its TV contract. With more time to wheel and deal the Big 12 would have negotiated to get somebody else, probably Louisville.

With no BCS to kick around anymore, I don't see why the expansion would be desireable for either side. You're not going to the football playoff regardless of what conference you represent. The Sugar/Cotton/Orange/Fiesta Bowl would prefer to drop dead than invite Wyoming or CSU or whomever, regardless of record.

All it would do is mean splitting the revenue into more and smaller pieces. I can't imagine a TV network increasing the pot because a conference added one of those MWC schools. So what's the upside for the conference to expand? What's the upside for the school, which is going to have to increase it's athletic budget by a few million each year?

    What's the upside for anyone?

Boise State reportedly hiring Harsin away from Arkansas State.

    Yep.

That's three straight years Arkansas State has lost a coach to another school after only one season. The last two were Hugh Freeze and Gus Malzahn.

I understand you can get a lot of mileage out of being a "cradle of coaches." But after a while it's going to kill your recruiting (such as it is, in the Sun Belt).

There's a Notre Dame message board (bluegraysky.com) claiming Bob Diaco will be the next coach at UConn.

    Yep:

@BFeldmanCBS: BREAKING #NotreDame DC Bob Diaco will be the new head coach at #UConn, source told CBS. 5yr deal, starts at $1.5 mil.

Not that UConn is a bad gig, but I would have thought Diaco's first HC job would have been better than that one.

It will be interesting if Chad Morris or Kirby Smart take jobs this off-season.

Chris Creighton hired at Eastern Michigan. Most recently at Drake, also very successsul at Wabash.

Ball State OC Rich Skrosky hired at Elon, he has ties there from when Lembo coached the Phoenix.

Supposedly ex-Delaware coach KC Keeler's going to SUNY-Albany. Haven't heard anything on JMU.

Not a bad hire for UCONN. Diaco's "no crease" defense certainly go schooled
    by Alabama though.

Was there anything more to Keeler's ouster at UDel than just a bad season? It seems weird that just two years after making it to his third I-AA championship game he wasn't given another year to turn it around after going 5-6.

Five head coaches in five years, though? Yikes.

You'd like your hotshots to hang around at least for a couple of seasons.
