That depends on who you are talking about at the school. The non revenue sports who have to travel farther to play their games? Yes. The cash strapped fans who have to drive further away to watch the team play? Yes. The schools who get left out of the expansion? Yes. The football programs/athletic departments as a whole, who find their TV contracts worth a lot more money? No, they won't regret it anytime soon.

I think the TV money dries up as it reaches a saturation point at some point in the not-too-distant future.

The SEC is launching a network next summer, so theoretically there could be some benefit to getting in the Virginia/DC market with Virginia Tech, not so much with FSU.

For a guy who had some success at Cal Poly, surprised he struggled as much as he did. Fun fact - Ellerson initially enrolled at Annapolis.

The demands on players at the academies are unique. Ellerson definitely help himself by going 0-5 vs. Navy.

It's getting ugly at Florida. Quarterback Tyler Murphy, who started 6 games this year, is the SEVENTH player to announce plans transfer since the end of the season:

But, but, what about the great academics?

He did bring them to a bowl, which, even in this saturated environment, was a rare thing for Army. But it was all downhill after that.

And yeah, you can't go 0-5 against Navy.

Army needs to realize that, shit, it has the worst recruiting situation in D-1. Your pitch is, "Come here if you want to go to war." That isn't necessarily the case at Navy and (Ch)Air Force.

I think he got them three of their four wins this season.

I think the pitch now is - "Afghanistan is winding down, and the drones do all the work anyway." But yeah, I don't think its a coincidence that they haven't beaten Navy since before 9/11.
