Yeah, Withers. There were reports last night that he got the job. Then, reports refuting those first reports because of the money issue you mentioned.

Couldn't agree with this more, Steak. Steve is one of the most intense people, in any profession, I've ever met. Straight shooter to fair reporters. He's had several opportunities to move up to FCS, but liked his situation at MGCCC. Hell of a hire for Central Arkansas.

Georgia Southern's Jeff Monken is your new Army coach:

The best thing Monken has going for him is U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Selling a post-graduate career as a junior officer in combat zones is a tough recruiting pitch.

Appropos of nothing, Blake Anderson sounds exactly like Bill Clinton. So he'll be a hit in that state.

Following up on a post on the NFL carousel thread, apparently the Texans' interest in Bill O'Brien is nearing critical stage, which could set off a bunch of ripple-effect vacancies.

As a Penn Stater, I hope like hell he stays, but I know it's not going to happen.

He's also supposedly a hot name for the Lions' imminent vacancy.

O'Brien's agent must be bent on playing the Saban game to the hilt.

My gut says he's leaving. He's not happy with the administration and Penn State will let him walk this time. Whether the school has an inflated opinion of itself or not, it thinks it's better than fighting to save its coach every year.
