Just what I was going to say. Would have rather seen Franklin or Cutcliffe, but anyway.

I'm kind of surprised Joyner and Erickson - the interims hired in the wake of the Sandusky stuff - are still there. Figure who ever replaces Erickson this year will also make the new AD hire.

From your fingers to God's ears, Penn State fans will say. Every day with Joyner is another day ... with Joyner.

Roughly comparable to Dr. James Andrews getting the Alabama AD job.

Yeah, heard that, too. Makes some sense. He's certainly had experience dealing with a program with sanctions. But I like Golden.

If he does leave, hey, Miami ain't that bad of a job. Chad Morris?

My guess is Texas will make an offer to Jimbo Fisher and Fisher will decide to stay at FSU. He's already got the hard part of being Bowden's successor behind him.

Golden's a good hire for PSU who appeases pretty much everyone. For the pro-Joe crowd you can point to the fact that he's an alum, wears a tie, will probably be a lifer, blah blah blah. To the people more concerned with winning you can point to the turn-around he did at Temple and the fact that he hasn't been horrible at Miami. Problem is he hasn't been great either, with ass beatings buy FSU and Louisville on his resume this year.

I'd say his results at both Temple and Miami have been pretty damn good considering the situations he walked into both places.

Schiano is a former JoePa assistant so he passes the 'sacred bloodline' test.

RT @BlueDevilLair: I can report that #Duke head coach David Cutcliffe has been contacted by Louisville to replace Charlie Strong http://t.co/caUUoVHXzA”

I've been surprised I haven't heard Swinney's name rumored for any other job. Is he the heir-apparent at Bama?

Cutcliffe is too old to start over, isn't he?

He's 59 and has a history of health problems. He can win seven games a year there, make a minor bowl, and the fans will be happy. Louisville is about to get some real world thrown in its face, and it won't be the fun and games the Big East was.
