I thought Petrino pretty much torched his bridges in L'ville the way he left the first time around, especially with Jurich. Which booster has enough power to tell UofL to hire him?

Not sure, but I bet it involves Papa Johns.

Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier leaving for Michigan. That's big.

It also opens the door for Lane Kiffin to Bama as OC, and I'm not even joking about that.

Still smells to me like Franklin is heading to Happy Valley.

    By way of Destin.

That would be odd. Hard to see Kiffin willing to be an assistant. Hard to see Saban wanting a high-profile former head coach as an assistant. We'll see. Strange world.

Saban had Kiffin in as a consultant in the days leading up to the Sugar Bowl. And if Kiffin ever wants to be taken seriously again, succeeding under Nick Saban is a perfect way to achieve that.

That didn't seem to work out so well, eh?

Alabama had 516 yards of offense and scored 31 points in that game. You're right, that's terrible.

But they also gave up seven sacks and turned the ball over five times, so there is that.
