When your head coach leaves to be come an OC at another school it may be time to reexamine your commitment to FBS football.

This has George O'Leary-to-Notre Dame written all over it. If he was brazen enough to cover up a sex assault, something else is going to shake loose in the next few days.

Someone asked on the interwebz if a head coach leaving to become an assistant had happened before and the interwebz said it has. Nick Hold Holt left Idaho to become the DC at USC.

There's also been some guys going to the pros.

Looks like OC Jeff Brohm (also former Louisville QB & OC) is the top candidate at Western Kentucky:

Not to mention, the Nashville DA's actions surrounding the case has raised more than a few eyebrows; with Franklin no longer under the protective wing of the Belle Meade crowd, some new facts about the case might come to light.

I could see the Pennsylvania media giving Franklin the kind of start that the LA media gave Steve Alford.

Does the Pulitzer winner still live in Pennsylvania? I know she was working for CNN awhile back.

Your terse "no" got me thinking. So many descending on Happy Valley a few years back
calling for justice and now they are on to the next event. Not even sure what my
point is other than how much the passage of time changes things.

    I didn't tersely say "no" twice. :)

I think it'll be Nashville media that gets the scoop and Pa. media who run with it after. No Pa. news outlet has the money to send someone down to Vanderbilt and snoop around.

Forgive me for being ignorant, but was there anything at all to implicate Franklin was involved with the rape/attempted cover up by the football players? Anything in the slightest besides just he was their coach?

Not much more than rumor and innuendo that Franklin reviewed texts from some of the accused shortly afterwards, and may have told them to delete the texts. Perhaps that's what sparked what could be only a fishing expedition by the lawyer for one of the accused:
