Maybe. They still will always be the state's second team and that might be hard for some to stomach. Gundy was doing an amazing job there. They need to bring in a big name and they have the cash to do it, but I could also see that program falling off the map if the right guy isn't hired.

 

They were intent on making a huge hire and they did just that. I don't know if the $3.75 million number is correct, and while that is high, it's not absurd money by SEC standards.

 

I think he's talking about two reporters from the same newspaper releasing conflicting reports on the hire.

According to Twitter, the Cincy President can be overheard saying, "good luck out west" at the end.

Murphy's Tweet really didn't say anything anyway.

He could just as easily have typed "John Gruden" instead of Mike Gundy. "Unless it falls through" is another way of saying, "I'm guessing."

 

Any thoughts on who Arkansas is about to announce? If not Gundy? Is Charlie Strong in the mix there? That's the job weeks back that I thought might have a chance of getting him.
