I'd like to think Chryst realizes the ACC is a decent gig and it might be better to be the guy who follows the guy who follows Bielema at Wisconsin. That said, it isn't like Wisconsin will have a hard time getting good candidates.

If O'Brien leaves it will be for the NFL.

You are making Bret Bielema a mythical character that he isn't. Bielema Bielema WAS the guy who follows the guy. The guy is Alvarez.

The way Wisconsin fans talk, you'd think Barry Alvarez was on the same level as Frank Broyles or Vince Dooley.

You guys keep acting like college football coaches aren't egomaniacs who think they can win anywhere and are above chasing a buck. You give them too much credit.

That's my guess as well. I was just surprised that somebody didn't make a run at him.

I guarantee you Dave Doeren is thinking that today. I would imagine he would be have been the leader in the clubhouse to get the Wisconsin job.

If this stuff about Bielema is true, Arkansas is crazier than I thought.

How'd that last SEC hire with connections to a D-I school in Iowa work out?

He left last year because he didn't want the Chizik stink on him when that entire staff was eventually fired. Leaving Auburn saved his career.

You're really comparing Bielema, who has been to three straight Rose Bowls, to Chizik, who was 5-19 at Iowa State?

I'm sure Wisky fans are drinking heavily right now.

But that really doesn't have anything to do with Bielema leaving.

I don't think Bielema leaving is that devastating to Wisconsin any more than it was devastating when Alvarez stepped down.

Definitely this. Plus the "connections to a D-I school in Iowa" is a little bit of a reach, too. Bielema played at Iowa and coached there 20 years ago. Chizik was coaching (and failing) at Iowa State.

By that logic, Bob Stoops would be a horrible hire for Arkansas, since he has connections to a D-I school in Iowa, right?
