If Chryst bolts now, Pitt will be bowling in Bham for the third consecutive year, and with a third different interim coach. I don't see how BYM finds the will to live.

This isn't coaching news, but in a completely unsurprising move, Tulsa has officially fired their degenerate gambler AD.

Darrell Hazell to Purdue, according to Bruce Feldman on Twitter:

Well, every AD should have in his desk drawer an action plan of what to do if their revenue-sport coaches gets offered 37 kajillion bucks by somebody else, get hit by a bus or get busted for kiddie porn out of the blue one morning.

Not that things will work out as according to your plan, but you should at least have some ideas where to start.

From various message-board reports Bielema has not been totally happy for some time so I doubt Alvarez is taken completely by surprise.

The circumstances of Bielema leaving certainly make it appear he was not particularly interested in giving UW a chance to keep him.

Butch Jones supposedly was in the mix for Purdue. I would guess Wiscy would at least be interested, especially if Chryst has turned them down.

Was hoping somehow Cal got Chris Peterson from Boise State (he QB'd at UC Davis a few years after Ken O'Brien).

Mike MacIntyre -- we've kicked his name around, San Jose State -- would make some sense at Wisconsin. The big question is whether he can be a real chief of a major program. But at UW you don't have to do that with Alvarez there as oversight. You can mostly just coach.

Not sure what to think about Addazio to BC. He's probably the best BC could hope for in the situation. Looks like Temple is on its way back into cellar of FBS.

Having spent plenty of time in Arkansas and Wisconsin, aside from the accents, there's really no difference between the two states.

Then the school should write that into the contract, that the coach can't leave for the life of the contract. And they won't get any decent coach to agree to that.

If a coach has a legal out in the contract, he can use it. There's nothing wrong with that.
