Well, it's easier to win at Wisconsin than it is at Arkansas... It's easier to win at Arkansas State than it is at Auburn... Of course it's easier to win at Louisville than it is at Tennessee, but I can't imagine Strong not taking the Tennessee job for that reason.

I was gonna say, if Strong doesn't get a new job it's either because he feels loyalty to Louisville or because Louisville makes it financially worth his while to stay.

Maybe he's waiting for a certain job to open. I doubt it's that, because Tennessee is one of the best jobs in the country and it's not like Florida is going to be open anytime soon.

Hasn't Louisville made it clear that they have way more money to pay a football coach than you would ever think Louisville could possibly have?

So wait. Is Tennessee really considering Fulmer?

Yes. And it's a very good possibility. We'll know tomorrow if it's going to happen or not.

I think it would be great if Louisville gave Strong a longterm deal and he stayed there for a long time and the football team can tear up the ACC when it goes there in a couple years...

He could be happy there. He'd be worshipped by the alumni and the fans, the pressure would never be what it is at a SEC school...

It just almost never seems to work that way. Bielema leaving and the possibility of Gundy leaving would be further proof of that.

The Knoxville paper makes it sound like it's Gundy or Strong.

I think Phil Fulmer was a very good head coach. But why would anyone think it would be a good idea to bring him back? Is the Fulmer talk happening just because he's being inducted into the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame?

That. And the fact Hart is there with him. I'm sure it's come up in conversation. I think he'd be a good fit. Better than Gundy. Strong is not leaving. Why don't you folks understand this?

Fulmer going back to Tennessee would be no different than Majors going back to Pittsburgh or John Robinson going back to USC. It wouldn't end well.

Fulmer would be a good fit somewhere like Kentucky or at an ACC school. But the big-time has passed him by.

Doesn't surprise me Cryst is staying put at Pitt. Not sure how well he got along with Alvarez, who hired him away from a good job (supposedly) with the promise he'd at least have a shot at the UW job when Alvarez left. Then Alvarez went ahead and appointed BB.

Cryst was looking for jobs several years ago, I think he interviewed at Iowa State when Chizik left and maybe for another opening or two. He did a nice job at Pitt. By November it was light years ahead of the Youngstown State game and should/could have beaten Notre Dame, with competent officiating and placekicking.

Petrino has hired Dennis Erickson's son as an assistant at Idaho. Not sure how welcome he'll be, as Dennis is a pariah there after the way he bailed on them to go to ASU.
