This is what never ceases to amaze me about the way coaching searches are covered. There was never one ounce of evidence that Gruden was their first choice. Just a shit ton of speculation by "experts."

Honestly, I don't think all the constant media speculation --- both legitimate media and social media crap --- help here. Let the ADs, coaches and agents do their jobs without everyone looking over their shoulders. When there is something legit to announce, they'll announce it. Until then, it's just noise.

Arkansas AD Jeff Long said Bielema sent him a letter of interest -- in September.

Why on earth would an AD throw his new coach under the bus like that?

How is that throwing him under the bus?

Wow. Some things are better left undisclosed.

I can't believe an AD would say that publicly about his new coach.

    C'mon Denver Post!

Will someone please coach the Buffs?!

I mean $2.5M, not bad, even in Boulder.

It's Jeff Long - the guy who nearly ran Jamie Dixon out of town at Pitt and decided Dave Wannstedt with Matt Cavanaugh as the OC was a GREAT FUCKING IDEA.

Jeff Long probably thought he would be helping endear Bielema to his new fan base in the same way coaches think they're selling themselves by using vague, mostly fictional stories about their childhood to show they rooted for their new university for a long time.
