This might seem silly, but why not give Brian Billick a call?

 

Agreed, Long should keep his mouth shut about this.

It sounds like it is Long's way of saying, "See how great this job is? We had coaches wanting to be here so bad that they were campaigning to be considered back in September even when they were working for other schools."

 

If you missed it, Barry Alvarez's presser today was pretty revealing ... had some pretty damning comments and reactions/pauses:

Same on Rome and SVP/Russillo ... but came off very well despite what he was probably thinking on the inside.

I loved the "Bret used my gameplan to win" line in the presser ... what a nice subtle kick in the nuts.

 

Barry was vintage Barry on all those interviews. Heard em all as I was driving on a trip.

He was livid but knows where the line is between pissed and whiny. Alvarez also revealed that, last year, he was ready for Bielema to leave, eventually

Have no idea who the next Tennessee coach will be. Thus far, I'm eliminated:

1) Any member of Dooley's staff.

2) Any current SEC head coach.

3) Black coaches (Charlie Strong, James Franklin, etc.)

4) TV talking heads (Gruden, Neuheisel, etc.)

5) Anyone who is a lightning rod for controversy (Petrino, Mike Leach, Jim Tressel, etc.)

6) Kirby "I'm too" Smart

7) Anyone who just got terminated (Chizik, O'Brien, etc.)

So that sort of leaves anyone who is a current (or recent former) head coach at an FBS school outside the SEC. Let the guessing continue.
