Did his wife run over anyone else on her way out of town?

I know one player who called his big-name coach and asked if he was coming back and the coach said, "I swear on my children, I'll be here next year."

The coach took the call an hour before his introductory press conference at another school...

I think 99 percent of coaches are just pathological liars by nature. It's probably a job requirement.

I've only been to Lubbock a couple times but it never struck me as being a "bad" place... It's not like it's Starkville.

Lubbock isn't even the worst town in the Big 12.

Maybe he didn't mean the legitimate children.

Lubbock isn't even the worst Big 12 town in Texas.

  8. Haven't been to Lubbock in about 15 years, but I'll still put it safely above Waco and Norman.

    And Ames.

Take away Eskimo Joe's and Stillwater's on the list too. Hell, it probably is anyway.

  10. Eskimo Joe's was the tits.

I could see Stillwater being a better town in a better economy — that's how it struck me anyways in the limited time I spent there.

Lawrence surprised me by being a pretty great town.

I think the biggest drawback with Lubbock is its remote location. As Wimp Sanderson was fond of saying, "It's so far out in the middle of nowhere, they don't get the Sunday paper until Wednesday."
