Per Bruce Feldman, Skip Holtz is headed to Louisiana Tech.

He's also the fourth head coach hire in a row at Tech who is the son of a former college coach - Jack Bicknell Jr., Derek Dooley, Sonny Dykes and now Holtz.

I don't really know what to trust in these things, but it's possible Wisconsin is interviewing Mike Riley

I would count Mike Riley as probably one of the best 10 coaches in college football...

    Colossally underrated.

Oregon State went 8-16 in 2010 and 2011 and lost three of its four biggest games this season.

And, he's 5-1 lifetime in bowls and had led the Beavers to the third-most conference wins in the Pac-10/12 over the past 10 years, at a traditional have-not that does not load up its OOC on cupcakes.

Top 10 coaches in America? Maybe not, but he's an excellent coach, who is also staying put.

Alvarez just wanted to ask Riley how the Beavers beat his beloved Rose Bowl-bound Badgers this year and led the other Rose Bowl participant until the last five minutes of the game.
    Riley is a great coach.

Per Google Maps, 979 miles from Camp Randall to In N' Out Burger in Allen, Texas. Nothing to see here.

You need to get SEC off the brain and check the landscape out here. Mike Riley is a very good if not great college coach. The recruiting challenges in Corvallis, and the rise of the program up the road, would leave most other coaches unable to win five games.

I could live with calling him top 20. Here are coaches I think are better (in no order):

    Nick Saban
    Les Miles
    Steve Spurrier
    Urban Meyer
    Mark Dantonio
    Chip Kelly
    David Shaw
    Chris Petersen
    Gary Patterson
    Bob Stoops
    Mike Gundy
    Bill Snyder
    Brian Kelly
    Frank Beamer
    Bobby Petrino
