Dooley went for 2, with 5 minutes left and down 25. It's not hyperbole to wonder if he's purposely attempting to aggravate his bosses, who owe him no professional courtesy whatsoever. They should fire him, and humiliate him on the way out the door after they hand him his $5 million severance.

Haven't see the play in question, but that's reminiscent of Jim Zorn.

I think he is trying to get fired. He called a fake punt deep in his own end down 20-10 or 27-10. I couldnt believe what i was watching.

I think I'd add Mike McIntyre at San Jose State to the list of coaches who might be moving up after the season. He's got them 30 minutes away from a 9-2 record tonight with losses to only Utah State and Stanford.

And at a school that was 1-11 when he took over and barely cares about football at all. McIntyre indeed has done a tremendous job there. I'd think he should be a prime candidate to move up, although I really haven't heard his name mentioned much. Could be a steal for some school like Kentucky, if they bother to notice.

UT announcing in the morning that they have a football head coach position open.

Which would be nice timing ahead of the MNF pregame announcement that Jon Gruden will be leaving ESPN after this NFL season.

Losing to Vanderbilt might be the last straw for poor Derek.

Blowing that huge lead to Missouri last week was the last straw. Getting blown out by Vanderbilt was just a cherry on top.

I'm not one who believes changing coaches cures all ills, but the time has clearly come in both Auburn and Knoxville.

Would love to see the Tigers beat the Crimson Tide and Gene Chizik give Bama fans the finger on his way out the door, though. One can always dream, eh?

Apparently, the decision was made following the Miss. State loss, but Hart was waiting until the team missed out on a bowl before pulling publicly pulling the trigger.

OK. I admit to not seeing any of the game, though I listened to it on the Vols network through my work computer. Why is going for 2 embarrassing the bosses? I mean, being down 41-10 to Vandy is, I get that. And he should be shown the door posthaste. But I'm missing something there, or else I'm just tired at the near end of a long shift.

It's a short drive to Berkeley.
