Feldman said the two jobs Chris Petersen might leave Boise for are Cal and Oregon.

Oregon I could see... I know he has ties to Northern California, but I can't see him leaving for Cal.

I believe just about any BCS conference school is "into football" when the team is winning Look at the places where interest in waning and you normally see programs that have maybe 1 winning season in the last 10 years.

Colorado was dreadful in the late 70s, early 80s. Then they started winning and football became hip again. No, not so much when they're getting whiiped 42-3 every week. If they turn things around in a few years, people will be into it again.

Gruden's alleged interest in the Arkansas job smells a lot like his agent is trying to leverage more money out of Tennessee.

I've been to a few games at Cal in the past few years and had a great time.
One of the problems is, with VERY limited parking, it's a bit tough to get to; a fair hike from BART, mostly uphill (but mostly downhill after the game). Thing is, Bay Area folks are used to not being able to park and accept it.
Game day, the campus is alive. Great bar on campus, Bear's Lair. The band queues up right next to it, cheerleaders, too. Really cool college atmosphere, even though the stadium was a piece of crap. Haven't seen the renovation yet. Maybe next year.

With word of an NCAA investigation, Chizik is done.

A school better than Vanderbilt is going to get a great head coach when they lure James Franklin away from Vanderbilt. But they're going to have to make a hell of an offer. I thnk Franklin's loyalties run a little deeper than, say, Bobby Petrino. That's just an impression I've gotten, and I'll admit I could be completely wrong. But I'm still a huge Franklin fan.

I think Gruden would recruit the hell out of Tennessee. With that said, as a head coach Gruden's offenses finished in the top HALF of the NFL in points in three of his 11 seasons, and not once in Tampa. Including his time in Philly when he was OC, his offenses finished in the top half in points scored in only four out of 14 seasons. Not in the top five, or top ten, but the top half. In Cam Cameron's 11 years in the NFL his offenses have been in the top half of the NFL in scoring 9 out of 11 years. Perception is an interesting thing.

Gruden coached the Raiders to four consecutive seasons of .500 or better. When will be the next time anyone will be able to make that claim? He's 95-81 as a NFL head coach, made the playoffs five times and won a Super Bowl.

Cam Cameron is 1-15 as a NFL head coach...

Other than that, good comparison. :D

Sportbook is being ridiculous. Gruden is a ball-control coach. Always was in Oakland (with a defense that wasn't all that great) and always was in Tampa.

Sportbook would have you believe Jim Harbaugh is overrated because Stanford didn't score more and the 49ers still don't.

I understand all of those things. Again, as I said, I think Gruden would be fantastic at Tennessee. I just think it's funny that he's considered the offensive guru when his offenses really haven't been very good.

Nope. Jim Harbaugh's offensive scheme is my favorite in the NFL.

The most amazing thing about Gruden to me was that he got that Raiders team to play disciplined football; attention to detail; no more stupid off-sides/personal foul/holding penalties. He was one of the hardest working guys. Maybe not so much in Tampa. I don't think you'll get the Raider Gruden now.
