What the hell has either of those two won? Has either even won a Division title much less an SEC title?

And I'd be careful singing Mullen's praises - the Miss State job is a house of cards and frankly Mullen's "success" this year consisted of beating all the horseshit on his schedule and getting spanked by the good teams he played.

If he stays there longer than another year or two he will be another footnote on he road to coaching oblivion.

Muschamp's doing pretty good, two seasons into a job where Meyer left the cupboard pretty bare.

I wonder what impact a conference change has on a coach being courted by another school. Doesn't make a lot of sense for Charlie Strong to consider an ACC opening at this point, but at the same time I figure a coach also has to know that now may be THE time to make a move in case their current team finds itself overmatched in the new conference because they haven't upgraded their resources in order to compete at a higher level.
Doesn't seem like anyone is knocking on Kyle Whittingham's door anymore...

Strong is reportedly very angry about a report that he interviewed for the Tennessee gig.

Actually, he's angry about a report he interviewed for the Auburn job.

If Strong does take another job, I could see Smart being a good fit for Louisville.

What would they pay him? It would have to be north of $2.5 million, I would think.

The thing I read today that gobsmacked me was that U of L already has a larger athletics budget than any current ACC school, $84.4 million. FSU is second, spending $3 million less per year.

Translation: They'll pay the right guy.

Charlie Strong made $2.3 million this year. He's the right guy, and they should give him a pay bump.

Mostly I'm being selfish and trying to keep Kirby out of the SEC.

How great would it be if none of Bobby Petrino, Jon Gruden, Charlie Strong, Kirby Smart and Tommy Tuberville end up as SEC head coaches this offseason? That would be wonderful.
