I'm mostly going with the shitcanning angle too, but you know who loves (and won a Super Bowl with) Monte Kiffin?

    Jon Gruden.

Apropos of nothing, but I first read that as "TigerVols just pooped wood," which sounds extremely painful.

Hardly; Monte's D doesn't work against modern college offenses.

Meanwhile, my wood WAS popped by this:

You forgot the rest of the headline:

"while he waits for Andy Reid to be fired..."

All I got was a Page Not Found screen. But who am I to judge another man's fetishes?

What you're going to get is some guy comes in for a quick fix. Brings in a lot of JUCOs and players he might not otherwise. Goes 7-5 and to some minor bowl game in year 2. Then bolts for another job.

Wham! You're right back where you started with no foundation laid and the next coach will struggle like the dickens. I'd be more inclined to bite the bullet and suck for a couple of years if need be and build the foundation.

As pointed out in an earlier post, with the way revenue sharing is now from bowls and TV, going 2-10 doesn't hurt you in the wallet nearly as much as it might under other circumstances.

Gruden has turned down UT, according to multiple reports this morning.

That's bad news for Andy Reid.

I think Reid will be relieved when the Eagles cut him loose.
