Since there is no hire out there that will seem adequate now that Chucky has turned them down, I'm guessing Kirby Smart winds up at UT.

Negative; AD Hart said he would only hire someone with proven head-coaching track record.

Rumblings that Hart was in OK last night meeting with Bob Stoops.

Yeah, I'm sure Les Miles wants to talk too before the ink is dry on that contract extension.

Why would Stoops leave Oklahoma for Tennessee?

Maybe he was asking Stoops for a recommendation.

Word I heard, was UT wouldn't pony up Gruden's demand for staff money.

I don't know what those demands were but I'd guess they were pretty high.

The guy who wrote the story for Chatty is getting hammered online but he ain't backing down. And good for him.

Every day this looks more and more like the blueprint Gruden's agent used to get him to Tampa in 2002. He pulled colleges into it (Notre Dame and even Florida for a bit to heat up the Tampa market) and then said there were never any offers.

Given that it's Tennessee he used this time, I am putting money on the idea that Gruden and his agent were just getting cozy with the Haslams and he will end up in Cleveland for the 2013 season.

An athletic director actually travels to a different state to meet a coach about recommending someone? These guys don't have phones?
