If Fisher wants to leave over that, well don't let the door hit you on the way out. BTW, Jimbo, ever think that if you go to the SEC or Big 12, you just might not have gone 11-2 this season? Yeah, something to think about, isn't it? Maybe life ain't so bad where you are.

But, if you wanna leave, fine, FSU will be just fine with you or without you. I know you ain't leaving THIS year, because it would have been a courtesy to pass the baton to Mark Stoops and not have him exiled to a gawd-awful landfill like Kentucky, where all anyone ever thinks about is basketball and horse racing.

Maybe a nice win in the Orange Bowl will put Fisher in a better mood.

Yeah, USF had a tough year. That could be a good job for the right person. Lot of talent in that area to draw from and they can't all go to UF or FSU.

That will be a tough job to fill given the Big East's status. It's a worse job than it was when they hired Holtz.
Best case scenario is they find a top-line coordinator about to get forced out of his current gig or a head coach who might want to "reset" a five-year clock because he hasn't been extended and is looking at a warmer chair next season...though I've got nothing on that end.

They should scan the waiver wire. Derek Dooley and Tom O'Brien would be decent fits. Maybe Panther OC Rob Chudzinski or former BC head coach Jeff Jagodzinski

I don't thin USF is a bad gig at all. No, it's not the SEC and never will be. But I'd bet a beer they might well in the ACC before the end of the decade. And, I would suggest, it's a lot easier to win at USF than, say, Kentucky or Mississippi.

That notwithstanding, it's a major market with a lot of football talent to draw from. If you get decent support from the administration, it has the potential to be excellent.

There's enough high school talent in Florida that any decent coach should be able to win consistently at any of the D-I schools in that state.

I wonder if he regrets leaving ECU. It's interesting how some coaches can have success at certain places, but are just not good fits for others.

Bobby Petrino had his best years at Louisville. His big mistake was leaving there.

He'll do well in the Big Sky.
