Pretty much the only person mentioning Bielema and the Vols is the Chicago reporter; Charlie Strong has interviewed and apparently so too has Mike Gundy. I suspect Gundy is playing the Vols for an OSU raise (he's repped by Jimmy Sexton, who is defacto UT AD and loves to use the school to get his clients raises). Which means Jimbo Fisher, who interviewed yesterday or today, is probably the next UT coach, IMO.

I don't understand why some people refuse to believe that coaching a football team is anything more than managing the clock.

That made me laugh so hard.

Interesting Petrino has not landed a job yet. He is the football equivalent of box office poison right now.

Pitt got the best active coach at Wisconsin last year. The best football coach at Wisconsin is still the AD.

And he took a couple of the better active coaches with him, and it showed this year at UW.

This. I think Beilema is a good coach. In fact, I think how much the Badgers improved from the begining to the end of the season shows that he's a good coach - his players are getting better and learning. He's not the greatest in-game coach. No argument there. But he is a good coach.

Bielema would be insane to leave. Wisconsin is one of those jobs where if you win 10 games every third year and make a bowl game every year, they'll leave you alone. He's never going to win a title up there. If he couldn't do it last year, he'll never be able to do it, but going to three straight Rose Bowls doesn't hurt the resume, even if this year's appearance should merit a giant asterisk. To be fair, they did beat Nebraska.

Why would Wisconsin falter in the next few years? Doesn't Ohio State have some scholarship/recruiting penalties? If so, that's when the dip will occur. (Compare Lane Kiffin when he first got to USC to this year).

Colorado reportedly offering Butch Jones $13.5 over five years to take that job.

I wonder if Purdue or anyone else tops that.

Joker Phillips to UF to be the receivers coach.

My educated hunch tells me Charlie Strong will be the next UT coach.
