Hmm, is there any way we can make Auburn/Bama animosity even more insane? I know, let's steal Bama's DC!

    Please let this happen.

If by "almost" you mean losing by 21 at home to Southern Miss in the C-USA championship game, then I guess you're right.

Two more trees just shivered off a few leaves, and neither know why.

Older fans still haven't forgiven Pat Dye for taking the Auburn job after working for many years as an assistant under Paul Bryant.

Dye wanted the Alabama job and I think Bryant wanted him to get it, but Dye didn't have the patience to wait two more years for Bryant to retire. It worked out OK for him, though. He's the best coach Auburn ever had.

Petrino isn't poison. He's just going to have to wait to see who's desperate after not getting their first or second choice.

People in Hattiesburg are convinced he's going to wind up at Southern Miss.

Did not know that. Thank you for the info.
This medicals thing is a joke. Maybe my least favorite thing about college football.

Maybe, but it allows guys who can't play (whether for medical reasons or because they just suck) the chance to stay in school and finish their degrees when otherwise they probably wouldn't.

Same could be happening at 'Bama now. Not sure how much longer Saban wants to go before his retirement, but many probably think Smart should just wait for his turn. The promise of the big job down the road doesn't work, though. Take the Texas situation with Muschamp.

I have no idea where Smart will turn up, I'm just a fan/alum and not in the loop on anything, but I bet he bolts for his first head coaching job before waiting to inherit the Tide.
