I remember Canseco saying that, but he also said he never witnessed or has any knowledge of Rickey using steroids. So he was alluding to another player.

Hall of Famers that Canseco played with include Reggie Jackson, Dennis Eckersley, Nolan Ryan, and Wade Boggs.

I think that any writer who has admitted to withholding their vote for a player because of unproven steroid rumors should have their ballot revoked.

It's also dishonest for baseball writers to say they heard or "everyone knew" this player or that player was using in the late 1990s. You didn't try to hold them accountable then by reporting/investigating, then you don't get to hold that against the player when they become eligible for the Hall.

Funny how you're the one acting like a troll on this thread. (crossthread)

Why are you still here? I feel like we should drag you from a condemned building before it crumbles.

Why not just vote for everyone on the ballot?

Veterans committee electes Jacob Ruppert,Hank O'Day and Deacon White.

Surprised Bill Dahlen was chosen (he was short by two votes) but it almost seems like they left one guy out so this committee can meet again in 2015. If they put Dahlen in with these three, I'd almost argue that they should just go to the Golden Era and Post Expansion voting because there are almost no viable candidates for this ballot.

Posted this in the hotstove thread. Should have posted it here instead.

I think they did a pretty good job this time around. I think Al Reach and Bill Dahlen deserved to get in, but Deacon White is a solid choice as a player.

Deacon White is the oldest HOFer elected as a player. He's the 3rd oldest HOFer overall.

Bill Dahlen only fell two votes short.

I do wonder what team Deacon White is going to be associated with in the Hall? The Boston NA team?
