I agree that there is nothing wrong with a blank ballot if the voter actually believes nobody is worthy. The problem is the voters who do think there are worthy options, but they want to use their ballot for some form of protest or to punish the guys they think might have used PEDs.

We can't make anybody vote any particular way, but we can certainly criticize them when we think they did it wrong. That's kind of the point of these discussions, for people to express their opinions.

I don't know. Maybe some people view voting as a sort of public trust so it's their job to do what the public wants, so they wait to see how the public feels about the steroid guys.

It's not how I'd do it, but the difference between me and you is I respect the people who have ballots. I respect that they are putting a lot of thought it and it and coming to conclusions that make sense to them, regardless of whether they make sense to me.

The bottom line is it's an opinion.

Tomase isn't doing what a lot of people have said about their vote. That they want to make and see how things play out, they have 15 years, etc.

He is voting for McGwire and has comes to terms with the era and what happened during it. And then says Bonds and Clemens are the greatest hitter and pitcher he's seen. And then says I am not voting for them this year. That's a punishment.
