I saw one tracker had 41 of 161 ballots with the max 10 players. And they couldn't end up figuring out ONE stinking guy

voters have sent a message: you made a mess. make sure you never make this type of mess again.

nobody cared ... somebody should have. they made a mockery of the game and nobody involved cared.

The voters' job isn't to send messages. It is to vote for the players they deem worthy of induction to the Hall of Fame. Michael_Gee realizes that and did a wonderful job of explaining exactly what the problem is with what his fellow voters did this year. Unfortunately, too many of his colleagues screwed it up and hurt the game in the process.

And before you start screeching that they did no such thing, having no living inductees is bad for the game. It's not a huge deal, but it matters. If that happens simply because the candidates weren't strong enough, that's fine, but that wasn't the case this year.

or not to vote for people. that's why they are called voters, champ ... because they actually, ya know, vote.

you, on the other hand, just sit around and bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch all while writing your column about junior high girls basketball column. somehow i could give two shits about your thoughts.

And yet you keep ranting when I offer them. And you keep missing the point. You said it yourself. Voters were out to send a message rather than vote, or not vote, based on who they think is worthy of induction. I would think even you could understand that explanation.

You also act like I'm the only one who has an issue with this. I guess you intentionally ignore posts that don't fit into your delusional view.

By god, it better be. I've been planning to be there for years. If one of those three don't make it because of the bullshit voting this year, I'm going to be PISSED.

What's annoying is this result being labeled an anti-steroids vote. It's an anti-everything vote. It's a vote in favor of suspicion of guilt and grandstanding. If you voted for Morris and no one else or turned in a blank ballot, you are not engaging in an intellectual exercise to find the best candidates. You are poisoning the process. Your vote should be taken away.

Biggio falling nearly 40 votes short shows the exclusionary nature of the electorate at this point. Either that or they're stupid. Ten players elected in the past eight years and most of them are mediocre candidates from the 70s and 80s. This isn't just about steroids. It's nonsense.
