The only way Cox doesn't get in is if the Vet Committee decides that since it is putting in La Russa and Torre, three managers would be too much. There won't be a player elected by them, Concepion was the only one to get more than 50 percent on the last ballot, and I think any newcomers they add will fall short. And if they elect Marvin Miller, it will be a Santo situation.

And I don't think they will skip Cox because 1. they know it's shaping up to be a big Braves weekend. 2. If they do, he'd be 77 by his election day in 2017.

 

Hopefully, he can sway a few more. Regardless of what you may think of Bonds, Sosa, Clemens and others accused of taking PEDs, they played the game and put up great numbers. The game lauded their exploits all the way to the bank. I'm not condoning their use of PEDs but it was a period of the game when people tended to look the other way. Their numbers aren't going to change and like it or not, it is a part of history.
