    I'd have to guess the large majority of those pitchers were on teams that were behind in their series, not ahead.

    Over the last 20 years, an average of four-plus pitchers a year start a playoff game on three days rest?

    That number seems reeeeallly high.

    Yes, with a notable exception of Josh Beckett going on three days rest in the 2003 World Series and the Marlins up 3-2 in the series.

    Jack McKeon goes with his "gut" and throws Beckett on three days rest -- and Beckett throws a five-hitter in a 2-0 win.
