I do fucking hate the Cardinals so much, but it's pure fan jealousy. They are insanely good at drafting and development.

It really is hard to argue with way they consistently turn out talent. The broadcast crew got into it last night after Adams homered. They haven't missed a beat offensively without Allen Craig, who was having a hell of a season.

Of course, it also helps to have your ace pitch like one. Wainwright threw 16 dominant innings in the series. Even with the ugly outing in Game 5 against the Nationals last year, his career playoff ERA is 2.03. That includes stepping in as a closer to help them win a World Series when he was a rookie.

Yeah, because the World Series sucks when two the best teams go at it.

Some of the most devoted seamheads on here will tell you baseball is more of a regional sport. If that is correct, it kind of makes sense to see interest by some to be based more on interesting storylines or fan loyalty than just seeing the best two teams.

Yeah. I'm not sure I'd watch a Boston-St. Louis World Series, or much of it, either. Of the teams that made the playoffs, I'd be more likely to watch the Pirates and Indians in the World Series. The other teams really don't do anything for me. Maybe the Dodgers.

And as I noted above, the last time the two teams with the best records played in the World Series (1999), it was a sweep.

I would only hate a Red Sox-Cards series because it would mean they both couldn't lose.

Even though I'm a Braves fan, this amuses me:

    That's fantastic. Especially this paragraph:

"At least two Braves players will be placed in each dugout from now until the World Series is over. Selig has empowered them with the authority to enforce game respect and unwritten rules via yelling, pushing and challenging people to fights while walking backwards away from them."

Someone on radio was discussing Beltran and said he did have a hand in the Cards winning in 2006; fantastic.

Really want to see A's vs whomever in the WS; because I love how its energized the city I work in.

So why is it a foregone conclusion the Cards are gonna beat the Dodgers?
