People seem to think we are "headed for a Cards-Sox" series.

I wouldn't bet against any team that can run Kershaw and Greinke out there for four games.

Bodie, I think you're mixing up "prediction" and "foregone conclusion."

Personally I think St. Louis is going to win, that lineup is so deep -- the only hole is Kozma if he plays. And they work the pitcher enough that I don't expect Kershaw or Greinke to be around for the eighth or ninth inning of any game.

Dodgers' lineup has some pretty glaring weak spots, and they've already telegraphed that they aren't crazy about Nolasco as a starter.

I think the Cardinals are a slight favorite. I don't think it's a foregone conclusion. The Cardinals' rotation is better simply because it's deeper. If LA starts Nolasco, that's bad. They probably have to keep it at Greinke-Kershaw-Ryu. St. Louis can go Kelly-Wacha-Wainwright-Lynn no problem. Plus the only hole in the Cards' lineup is at short, while LA has the Ellises (one who bats 2nd for some reason), Uribe and Schumaker, none of whom strike fear in any pitcher.

I've always felt Kozma is a disaster waiting to happen. Physical skilled, but a mental midget apparently. Really would like to see the Cardinals get someone else in there before one of his trademark bonehead moves costs them dearly.

With him and Holliday in left, that's an entire alley way from the plate to the outfield fence where bad, bad things can easily happen.

They are on quite a run this century, for sure. That's 8 NLCS appearances in the past 14 years for St Louis.

There will be books (or at least very long Web articles) written about their decision not to sign Pujols and the Angels' decision to do so.

I thought the Phillies had the good run?

So who is bigger? Adams or Colon?

This apparently surfaced a couple of years ago, but Rob Neyer posted it on his blog today. It's 4 minutes of color footage from the 1939 World Series between the Reds and Yankees. Pretty cool:

On a tangent, there is a little color footage of I Love Lucy. You can see why that wouldn't have worked. Had to be B&W.

Wow -- is Mike Ilitch tired enough of writing checks that he'd get rid of Max Scherzer?
