I hate Beltran, never liked him. But, man, is he clutch.

Cardinals IBBed Ramirez both times he came up after the Gonzalez move. First time Young hit the flyball for the Beltran play, second time GIDP.

But nah, they wouldn't have wanted Gonzalez up there twice with a runner in scoring position.

Gonzalez would have done exactly what Gordon did after he was lifted. Not stole 2nd, been forced out.

I can't tell if you're arguing with me or agreeing with me.

    Agreeing.

    But hindsight is 20/20.

Oh, I think that one looked dumb in real time, no hindsight needed. If Gordon isn't stealing, there is no advantage to having him run; and if the lineup winds around again, you're missing your cleanup hitter.

Mattingly probably thought Gordon could score from first on a double and Gonzalez can't. Still pretty stupid managing, but it's a way to think.

Really hard to root for either team in the NLCS. Just when I was sick of the Cards and Team Budweiser, they show a shot of Lasorda. Wo Bist Du Tom Neidenfeur und Don Deckinger?

Carpenter hits leadoff triple in first. Kershaw gets Beltran to pop up on the infield, gets Holliday swinging and Molina on a grounder to Punto at short.

Ramirez not in lineup today after being HBP in ribs last night.

Mattingly removes Kershaw after 74 dominant pitches for the outstanding bat of Michael Young.
