I wondered about that. Can pitchers see signage changes like I do on TV, or do the screens stay blank during action?

I would think seeing the neon signs change when you're in the middle of a pitch would be disconcerting.

    Wrong.

For national games, and post season games, digital ads are used. Those are sold by the MLB, in conjunction with the networks. So you see ads from MLB official sponsors, and network promos.

Because they're digital, the international fed gets different ads.

In stadium, the signage is blank -- blue/green screen.

He's already a headache. They had to suspend him for a game because he was out too late partying when they played the Marlins.

What is up with people's refusal to let athletes have fun? The Cardinals pitchers were pumping their firsts after striking him out this series. He can't pimp a triple?

Fun is what Puig did at third base after the triple -- pumping his arms.

Douche is what Puig did after the hit -- flipping the bat to admire what was not a home run.

He didn't cost himself any bases. He still ended up at third with a triple. So what's your point?

I think he gets an inside-the-park HR. And he didn't end up scoring that inning.

But the no-takeout-slide at second base was worse than the bat-flip or the fist-pump.

I love the guy, though. I can't lie.

That he acted like a douchebag with the theatrics.

But he could have. It's like poker. Decisions, not results. The fact that the situation bailed him out doesn't alter the fact that he made a poor decision that could have hurt his team. I've seen it happen before.

He was gifted with world-class power and speed, so he beat out that triple. Great. Most guys might have been thrown out -- and short of that stopped at second. And so the point is you don't fuck around with outs in the playoffs. He was safe this time. I almost wish he was thrown out and that the Cards came up in the next AB and scored a few runs to really make it interesting.

He clearly thought he hit it out. Wind must have gotten it. At any rate, I'm sick of baseball's unwritten rules. They're the worst part of the game. That's why you have people like Brian McCann policing it while it's going on.

Then the butt hurt Cardinals, after the game, complained about Gonzalez and Puig celebrating. If you don't want them to celebrate, get them out.

And he was clearly wrong. And he could have cost his team because of it. In the NLCS. How about he lets the umpire decide if it's out or not and, in the meantime, does his fucking job.
