This wasn't even unwritten rule territory for me. "Clearly thought he hit it out" isn't good enough for me. Start running hard and if it goes out it goes out and you can histrionics your way around the bases.

He got a triple. I think he did his job.

I'm a purist but I can appreciate youthful verve. There's a time and place for the latter.

What are you not grasping here? Yes, all's well that ends well, I guess. But it was an unnecessary risk, with no upside. Sometimes, people get away with unnecessary risks with no upside. He did. That doesn't mean it was a good decision.

They're supposed to be having fun. Puig is clearly having fun. It's a game. Fun.

The Cardinals are really good at getting the red-ass over little things — Wainwright complaining reminded me of him blaming waving white towels for Matt Holliday botching that fly ball in the 2009 NLDS.

Wainwright pumping his fists after strikeouts is OK. Carpenter celebrating his lone hit of the series so far is OK. Wacha running off the mound celebrating after getting a strikeout is OK. But Gonzalez, doing the same thing he's done on big hits ALL SEASON is "Mickey Mouse"? Please.

They're mad at Gonzalez too? What did he do?

JB, obviously you are not from St. Louis, one of those poor 325 million souls who does not know how the game is played The Right Way.

They are supposed to play baseball. The satisfaction they derive from doing so is entirely up to the individual. Bully for Puig for having fun, I guess. But as soon as it threatens his team's success in the slightest, it's gone too far. That little antic last night, hence, went too far.

The Cardinals play the game "the right way" apparently <jacking-off motion>

Why isn't any talking about Beltran totally dogging it going after that triple Puig hit?

Don't forget the Cardinals think they invented the fucking game so they know how to behave. Fucking crybabies.

Baseball players are the biggest pussies on the planet, don't ever clap.
