And in the 1968 series, too.

Winning by 2 runs through 6 innings is "on the doorstep?" Ask the Tigers about that ...

With the back end of the Dodgers pen? Absolutely.

I know I can't come close to NDJournalist's news tip on the ALCS earlier, but here goes.

Tigers shuffle lineup for Game 4:

    Torii Hunter, RF
    Miguel Cabrera, 3B
    Prince Fielder, 1B
    Victor Martinez, DH
    Jhonny Peralta, LF
    Alex Avila, C
    Omar Infante, 2B
    Austin Jackson, CF
    Jose Iglesias, SS

Lots of empty seats at the Ravine this afternoon.

And this back end of the bullpen in the ninth has gone double-single-single.

And here comes the potential tying run.

Time to bring in Tom Niedenfuer?

Puig will get plenty of love in St. Louis next season if Cardinals pull off this comeback with his help.

The Dodgers throw Kershaw. The Cardinals counter with Wacha. In a potential Game 7, it's Ryu vs. Wainwright.

With the way Wacha has been lately and Wainwright's body of work this season, it's going to be a hell of a last game or couple of games.

And whichever team gets to the World Series will have been forged in the fire.

I have to admit, I thought Crawford was done and that his contract was a huge albatross; well looks like he's got plenty of life left (although maybe not $16M/per left; but at least he's not Vernon Wells.)

In the NLCS, I'm just rooting for a Gm 7.

Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez combined for three home runs today. You think the Red Sox don't miss them?

That's true. Imagine where the Red Sox would be if they had Crawford and Gonzalez. And Beckett! Their season definitely would have been a success.

The Red Sox gave up Carl Crawford, Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett and Nick Punto for Rubby De La Rosa, Ivan De Jesus, James Loney, Jerry Sands and Allen Webster.

3/4 of the players the Dodgers received are on the NLCS roster. None of the players the Sox got are on the ALCS roster.
