Umm, seemingly every college team does a standoff a few times a year. It's all in good fun.

i have no problem with puig playing with passion, but dear god realize you can't throw everyone out at home and stop costing your team runs

That Carpenter AB was a manly feat of strength.

Everything about the TBS production except the studio show has been atrocious all postseason.

Camerawork, direction, graphics, PBP, color, you name it ... some of the worst baseball broadcasts I've seen in the major leagues in a long time. Certainly for a nationally televised game. (Some regional networks have been bad, too. I'm looking at you, Peachtree TV.)

The TBS studio show has been must-watch TV, though.

The TBS guys made a big deal of it, too. But when you give up an extra base to the guy who turns out to be the second run in a four-run inning, he would have scored anyway.

I was a lot more pissed about the pitches that Fox Trax showed as strikes that the idiot behind the plate called balls. The real killer was the 3-2 pitch to Adams that should have ended the inning. Instead, it loaded the bases and two more runs scored.

Yeah, the throw had a little arc on it since he threw on the run, but it was right on target to Gonzalez, who could have taken a step forward to meet the throw and gotten Beltran at second. Instead, Gonzalez stood flat-footed and dropped it.

Now the Dodgers are just cratering.

This narrative that the Cardinals "made the decision" not to re-sign Pujols is crap. They got out-bid.

They offered 9 years, $200 million. He'd have still been overpaid.

Maybe they made that offer because they knew he wouldn't take it but they wanted cover for their fan base.
