Meaningless? 5-0 isn't an insurmountable lead.

The Red Sox win probability has been over 90 percent since it became 4-0.

What was the Tigers' win probability in the seventh inning of Game 2?

I'm just saying the most logical thing to do, given the circumstances, was to take Wainwright out early when it got to 4- or 5-0, gone to somebody like Shelby Miller who has proven capable all season, and then you have a pretty fresh Wainwright for Game 4 and Game 7. All of this understanding that the Cardinals aren't likely going to win once they fall down 4-0. It's possible, sure. Not at all likely.

Good thing it's still Oktoberfest time.

Horrible game by the Cardinals. No defense, no offense, key injury... Murphy's Law in full effect.

Hopefully they can put this behind them and mount a defense tomorrow. How many teams have come back from 0-2 in the World Series? Can't have been many.

The '86 Mets lost the first two games at home and ended up winning it all. I think the '81 Dodgers fell behind, 2-0, and won the next four. If I recall, that was the Series where George Steinbrenner labeled Dave Winfield as Mr. May.

1996 Yankees lost the first 2 at home (including 12-1 in Game 1) and then won 4 straight.

Has Shelby Miller died and nobody noticed? What is up with Matheny's refusal to go to him?

What part of "playing the game the right way" includes sliding feet first into first base?

Why do MLB players continue to slide into first base?
