You'd think. But he's only pitched one inning in the whole playoffs. That's after pitching 12 percent of the Cardinals innings during the regular season, according to Rob Neyer. They have four guys who are plenty good in that playoff rotation, but I still think he belongs there.

Never hurts to have another starter just in case. You never know when a scheduled starter is going to be pulled early, or get hurt, or be used in an exceedingly long prior game.

Giants last year benefited greatly from having Zito (NLCS) and Bumgarner (WS) available, after they had already been taken out of the rotation earlier in the postseason.

You know what else was "so Cardinal?"

I've heard here in STL that Miller is about 15 innings short of whatever limit they loosely set for him back in spring training. That said, I would not be surprised if he does end up starting Game 4.

As for why he's only pitched one inning so far as a long reliever - the Cardinals haven't had a poor start yet so as to need him. His one inning came in the 13-inning game vs. LA.

I think they should've used him in Game 1 once things got out of control quickly. Then you could've had a relatively fresh Wainwright for Game 4.

Miller is not past his innings limit. I have no idea why he isn't seeing action, but if he's going to get in a game it will be at Busch, not on the road.

miller's one inning came in game 2 against pittsburgh, which was a bad lance lynn start. he gave up a home run, but i also have no idea why they seem to be going out of their way not to use him.

Pretty nice of the Red Sox to let Workman finally have his first MLB at-bat in the ninth inning of a tied World Series game.

That was an obvious call, right?

Weird finish, but absolutely the right call. Sure looked intentional, if it even matters in that situation.

This is without question the horseshittiest World Series in MLB history.

Totally right call and that's two games the Red Sox have given away by throwing to third with no chance at the runner.

Also, yeah, Farrell needs to learn the double-switch.

Jim Joyce absolutely nailed that call perfectly. No doubt about it.
