Oh, just the same date that a game is decided on an umpire's call. Sort of like an anniversary.

No, it's not sort of like an anniversary. It is an anniversary. It's not in any way ironic.

It's like a black fly in your Chardonnay...

On topic, easy obstruction call. And I'm rooting for Boston.

What's the risk anyway? One run wins it. It doesn't matter if it's you or the runner behind you. There's likely going to be an out whether you break for home or not and if you get thrown out the man on 2nd is at third anyway. It's a zero-risk play to break for the plate there.

Definitely not controversial. My dad is the biggest Red Sox fan on the planet and he said it was obstruction. He also thought Saltalamacchia never should have made that throw.

why do people want the rule changed? it accomplished what it was designed for, deciding (logically and correctly, seems to me) who has the right of way when two guys are in the same space. i get that it's bad timing for a world series game to end that way, but that's why the rule exists.

that's the problem with the neighborhood play. on a bad throw, how do you determine when it matters if the fielder is on the base with the ball?

When the Red Sox don't help, the Cardinals can't come close to beating them.

Why is it so damn hard for a manager in the World Series. Terrible inning by Matheny.

    Holy shit. Holy fucking shit.

This is the worst postseason baseball I have ever seen.
Entertaining as hell, but this shouldn't fly in Single A.

Damn Red Sox need a team barber. Hockey playoffs are twice as long as the beards aren't that out of control.
