In the first 31 games, the Giants have already swept a series from each of the other four NL West teams.

Yeah, it's early ... but if they keep throwing like this, might be a li'l crazy for the Japanese media if Darvish and Iwakuma square off again late in the season. Iwakuma won the first matchup.

Yeah. It's apparently 93Devil who says that dumb shit. Sometimes, it's hard to differentiate between you two. My bad.

As noted, a long way to go this season, but worth noting that Darvish is on pace for 333 strikeouts (72 in 31 games, though he likely won't pitch again until his next start, so make it 72 in 35). Only Randy Johnson has struck out that many in the last 35 years.

Also, Darvish would need to pick up the pace some, but 384 is still within the realm of possibility. How fun would that be with Nolan Ryan around for probably every start?

I'm having an argument with a friend of mine, and since I frequent a message board with a bunch of journalists, I thought I'd go to you for advice.

First off, I was never a journalist.

He's saying that RBI should be written like this (RsBI), and I say that it needs to remain like this (RBI)

    What is your opinion?

Andrelton Simmons just did something I have literally never seen. Shin Soo Choo picked off first, but heads for second. Bad throw down from first base, Simmons falls off bag, tags runner out from between his legs.

And he's also hit two homers.

If you can't remember who said something dumb, odds are it was 93Devil. He's the dumb guy on the board.

Dick is one of the smartest guys.

Here's something I've never seen before.

Ian Stewart got hurt in spring training and missed out on the competition for the Cubs' 3b job that he was expected to win despite being awful last season and then ending his season with a wrist injury that has bugged him since 2005. (There were some whispers of the organization and teammates being unimpressed that he didn't stay with the team to rehab but instead went home).

So he goes to AAA on a rehab assignment and continues to be awful. After 20 days, his rehab assignment has to end. He clears waivers and gets assigned to the same AAA team he is already on.

But even though he was already with the team, technically he gets 72 hours to report to the team. So he informs the team that he's taking it, and they try to talk him out of it, but he insists. So he gets a three-day weekend but pretty much torches any chance he had of getting called up this year or ever with this team.

"Forget it, Jake. It's the Cubs."
